There is something so magical about traveling. Whether it is going for a short drive or leaping across grand oceans, getting out and exploring is key to a healthy lifestyle. Here are a few essentials that I put together for your next great adventure.

Drivers License or ID – This is so important that I had to place this as the first travel essential. I have both experienced and heard too many horror stories of people forgetting their ID before heading to the airport and discovering it too late for them to make their flight. Regardless of where you are going, it is so important to bring your ID. It is for your protection and benefit to have some form of ID on you at all times. This needs to be this first thing you pack and the first thing you double and triple check that you have before heading out for your excursion.

Water – Staying hydrated while you are out and about is an important piece of the puzzle to a great adventure. Bring a reusable water bottle with you and pack it up with ice and water to keep you refreshed and hydrated.

Cell Phone Charger – I know that I don’t even have to remind you to bring your cell phone, but one reminder that I want you to consider is bringing a portable and car charger with you. Our cell phone battery tends to die on us, especially during the times that we need it the most. Be wise by charging up before you leave and bring a charger with you so that you can snap those beautiful pics, text your mom, or have a resource to reach out just in case of an emergency.

Snacks – Being hangry when you are out on an exciting journey is no good and can slow you down. Bringing a snack with you will keep your energy up and will prevent you from overeating later when you finally eat a meal. Taking some light air-popped popcorn, crunchy granola bar, fresh green grapes, or any other quick snack will give you the strength to keep going on your next great trip.

Comfortable Clothing – This might be a no-brainer, but I think that it is important to wear comfortable clothing when you are heading out on your travels – whether it is going on a quick road trip or jumping on a plane. Consider wearing something that can easily adjust to whatever you decide to jump into. Grab some cute running shoes with a comfy and stylish pair of legging and you’ll be ready for whatever comes your way. Also, don’t be afraid to layer up – you never know what life has in store!

Roadtrip Playlist – This is my favorite travel essential! If you know me, you know that I am always bumpin’ music in my car and have a pair of earbuds with me at all times. Having a playlist of fun sing-along songs, dance party jams or Bay Area bops (my fav), look up some songs that you and your company will enjoy.

Blanket/Throw – Bring along one of your favorite blankets or throws on your next trip. Having something to sit on or cuddle with will provide you with more options on where to go and bring about a comfort when you are there. I recommend bringing something that is light and easy to clean so you can focus less on the care and more on the adventure!

Backpack – Take a backpack with you for your journey. Having a backpack will provide you with a bag that you can utilize to carry your travel essentials plus they can add some personality to your outfit! With various looks and sizes, having a backpack with you will definitely aid you on your next trip.

Sunglasses or Shades – I don’t know about you, but living in beautiful, sunny California has made me a sunglasses person and I bring them with me on any trip I go to – whether it is a road trip to San Francisco or a quick trip to the local San Diego beach. It is important to protect your skin from the sun rays and the same goes for your eyes. Find a cute pair of shades with a stylish case that you can bring with you on your travels.

Amazing Company – Your trip wouldn’t be half as amazing as it could be if you don’t bring amazing company with you. Whether it is your friends or family, bring people with you that will enrich your voyage and will show you the beauty of the journey and not just the destination.

I hope that you can benefit from these travel essentials and will keep them in mind the next time you decide to go out and explore. Remember that a healthy lifestyle comes from going out and about – regardless of whether it is in or outside of your comfort zone. Live your life knowing that you did and saw it all rather than regretting not doing more. Whether it is going someone close or taking a leap to visit somewhere far and foreign, go out and seek the beauty of the world. Wander and explore and encourage others to join in and don’t forget to…
