Skin-care is one of the most important elements to add into your daily routine, including your self-care routine. Taking proper steps to care for the biggest organ of your body is important and having beautiful, healthy skin is appealing and welcoming!
Here are 5 Beauty Do’s and Don’ts for Flawless, Glowing Skin!
1. Do – Take A Makeup Break
Taking a simple Makeup Break is a great practice for flawless, glowing skin. Makeup may sound like an easy and quick solution to cover up scars, acne, and blemishes, but in actuality, you are suffocating your skin and placing harmful chemicals over the areas that simply need a break. Give your skin that break and take a No Makeup Day! You are beautiful and spectacular regardless of your what your skin is saying right now. Own it and know that you are promoting a healthier and brighter complexion every time you go bare face!
2. Don’t – Use Dirty Facial Brushes
Using dirty facial brushes is one of the worst things you can do for your beautiful skin. Over time, the built-up skin and makeup left on the brush can be harmful to your skin and make it difficult to apply beautiful coverage to your face. Take some time to either replace or clean out your brushes that need love.
A tip to cleaning your brushes is using soap that is gentle to the skin. I recommend using baby soap. Not only is this gentle enough for the sweetest and cutest humans in the world, but this is gentle enough for your skin and will do a great job at cleansing your dirty brushes. Also, don’t be afraid to invest in a makeup brush cleaner to assist in cleaning your brush fully!
3. Do – Use A Regular Facial Cleanser WITH a Clean Towel
Cleansing your skin daily with your favorite facial cleanser is a great way to keep up a beautiful and flawless complexion. I recommend doing it at least twice a day (morning and night). I have dry and oily skin, so I’ve been using Charcoal Face Wash and love it! Find something that works for you!
Also, don’t forget to use a clean towel to dry that beautiful face of yours. I really want to specify this because using an overused, dirty towel to dry your clean and fresh face defeats the purpose of cleansing your skin. Make sure you replace your facial towels daily or use a disposable towel.
4. Don’t – Sleep with Makeup On
Yes, I know that you have been told this a million times, but I wanted to personally remind you that you should NEVER sleep with makeup on.
Sleeping with your makeup on does nothing good for your gorgeous skin, so take the time to remove it before you hit the hay. One way that I take off my little to no makeup on nights that I am rushing to bed is using a makeup removal wipes. In times of urgency, find a way that you can remove your makeup off quickly before you head to bed and you will see great results!
5. Do – Use A Spin Brush for A Deep Clean
Incorporating a spin brush into your skin care routine is a great way to brighten and enhance your overall complexion from a different angle. I recently got the PIXNOR Facial Cleansing Brush and I have seen amazing results! Not only do I use this brush to exfoliate and clean out my pores, I use it to get a deep body clean using the 7 brushes that it comes with. Highly recommend!
6. Don’t – Put Anything and Everything On Your Face or Body
This is a big one because the times when I had the greatest breakouts on my skin was when I randomly place a product on my face without having any regard on what was in it and how my skin would react. I recommend testing out and researching products before you use them to make sure they are healthy and beneficial to you.
A simple tip for testing out products is trying some on your forearm. Your forearm has sensitive skin similar to your skin but can handle a failed product test. Take care of your skin and it will thank you later!
7. Do – Use Cocoa Butter or A Great Facial Moisturizer Daily
Using cocoa butter or a great moisturizer every day is a great practice to incorporate in your skin care routine and leaves skin radiate and soft. If you know me, you know that I love Cocoa Butter (it’s one of my core values) and I have to give a shameless plug!
Using Cocoa Butter took my scared face and turned into a beautiful canvas. I love cocoa butter and I recommend seeking out a product that is your go-to for beautiful and flawless skin!
8. Don’t – Forget to Take Your Vitamins
Vitamins are such a great tool to use for flawless and glowing skin. Taking a simple Vitamin C gummy once a day has great, long-term benefits which include promoting healthy skin.
Find a vitamin that best fits your overall health needs and includes Vitamin C to take once a day and you will see beautiful skin care results in no time!
9. Do – Use A Facial Mask Once A Week
Don’t be afraid to use a facial in your skincare routine. This is a great element to add to your self-care routine and is fun to do in a group setting!
With facials being designed to stay on your face for a specific time, it is important to keep track of the time you have to keep the facial on and when removing, I recommend heating up a hot towel for a clean finish.
Find a facial that has everything that you need for your skin and take the time to schedule it into your routine every week! Flawless and glowing skin will greet you soon!
10. Don’t – Forget to Drink Water!
The path to beautiful skin is not all about what you put on your skin, but also what you put in your body. If you want to enhance your complexion, you have to put good thing in your body and that including drinking a ton of water every day.
I drink about 90-120 oz of what every day and as a result, my skin looks flawless and is glowing! Drinking water does wonders to your body, your organs, and your skin!
A tip to drinking water is to create a detox with your water. Slice up some fresh fruits like cucumbers, lemons, berries, etc. and infuse them into your drinking water for a great detox in your hydration practice.
I hope these beauty do’s and don’ts assist you in uncovering the flawless and glowing skin that you already have inside of you. Take the time to care for your body and inspire others to do the same! Stay beautiful and don’t forget to…
